Namaste! I’m Katherine - an old soul, with a passionate spirit.
The passion for balanced wellness inspired the vision for Within the Journey. Over the years, my understanding of what balanced wellness really means has shape shifted many times. Having a forever-curious mindset, I’ve walked many paths with the intention to gain greater understanding of what life is truly about and how to appreciate this human gift of life itself by being more present. How do we remain intrinsically at peace with the constant unexpected changes of life? A balance mind-body-spirit connection provides the remedy.
In order to live in the present moment regardless of circumstance, we must accept the truth. Pain and suffering is a condition of human existence, but there is a way out.
What I have learned is that in order to truly experience inner peace within the perceived chaos that life itself offers, in order to be truly “well”, we must pursue the truth. Our truth. We must embrace the pain and suffering that we all encounter along our journeys with a deep knowing that it, too, will transcend (instead of running away from it). All things in life have an expiration date. We can’t ignore what’s standing right before us, or what has happened in our past. Living in balanced wellness is a lifetime commitment that requires us to release fear and grow an intimate relationship with our mind, body and spirit in order to recognize the gift of the present moment. It is living in the present moment that offers us a glimpse of what it would feel like to truly be at inner peace (the one desire we all really have in common that often remains unacknowledged and unspoken.)
Growing a healthier relationship with our mind, body and spirit is a simple
solution, but the journey itself is complicated!
That’s when the spark ignited. That’s when I knew exactly how I could serve in this world. By walking various paths by trial and error (many errors, oye vey!), I could not only develop a road-map for myself, but also build a foundational road map that could be translated and shared with others to unlock their own path to understanding and living in balanced wellness. Onward and upward- I continued to study in order to uncover how to live in the present moment by pursuing a deeper understanding of the shadow self.
Embodying your truth requires not only a healthier relationship with the mind, body and spirit, but a deeper understanding of the connection between them.
Acknowledging and continuing to heal the shadow aspects of self and understand the world as we know it opened up the gateways to deeper truth. In order to live more fully in the present moment, we must foster a healthy relationship between the mind, body and spirit so that they may work in harmony with one another. (Easier said than done, aye!) I embarked on a journey to study and understand the condition that is the human mind. Understanding the power of the mind and the influence it has on every cell of our being led to studies of the human body, both physically and energetically. Once I understood and befriended the mind and began to truly honor the body for the vessel that it is, only then was I able to grow an intimate relationship with my spirit. The beauty of living in balanced wellness is that it continues to grow, change and expand with each passing day. Embodying your truth inherently teaches us to acknowledge, grow and expand with the unexpected changes of life itself- instead of fighting and resisting the inevitable. It’s about learning to accept the ever-changing conditions of life, especially those aspects we have no control over. Living in this way encourages expansion, both humanly and spiritually, and brings us closer to inner peace.
Divine guidance flows through the vessel that is my body, and it is my intention to share this truth with you.
You are not your mind. You are not your body. You are not your spirit. But together, the mind-body-spirit connection creates the human form that is you - the vehicle by which life can flow through you, as you. Understanding the relationship between these three aspects of self brings you into closer alignment with your authentic self. Deeper integration of the understanding provides the tools needed to unlock a life centered around balanced wellness. It brings us into greater alignment with the present moment. Harmonizing the relationship between the mind, body and spirit allows us to more easily accept and flow with the ever-changing fluctuations of life itself. That is where you take the ball, and run with it! I provide the foundation for understanding and the tools. You take it from there, and see where divine guidance leads you next along your journey!
It is my intention to serve as your teacher to understanding and harmonizing the mind-body-spirit connection to truly acknowledge the gift that is you!
The gift of human experience (both literally and metaphorically) is that we have the freedom to choose. We can choose to live in pain and suffering. We can choose to live within balanced wellness for the rest of this lifetime without getting caught up in the lies, forever changing our perspective on life itself. We can also choose to take another step towards spiritual transcendence and experience what it’s like to live in a non-dualistic existence within the human experience. Your intuition will always guide you along the way. It is my wish for you to always listen to the whispers of your soul, past the shouts of the scared ego.
